Trivia Night

Olivet Presbyterian Church has become a church home for us in Evansville.  We have been welcomed warmly and loved over past 9 months!  The missions committee hosted a "Japanese Friendship" trivia night to give the church a chance to show off their knowledge and get to know a bit about Japan and what we are dreaming of doing there.  The evening was full of questions, ranging from topics from "name that tune" to "Japanese art & history" to "celebrity nicknames".  The evening was full of laughter and good food!  It was a fun way to share our passion for Tokyo with our church family!

Trivia night was made possible by a few of my Japanese friends who helped brainstorm ideas and write the questions about Japan.  On top of that, several friends came to trivia night to participate!  They spread themselves around the room to help each team with the rounds about Japan.  I think our family at Olivet enjoyed meeting them, and my Japanese friends were amazed at how competitive the folks at Olivet are!  They each brought a Japanese dish to share, which was also a highlight of the evening.

Toyota City, Japan.  They are living in Evansville
because their husbands' have a job at the Toyota factory
(or affiliate company) in town.
