We are having a blast in the Big Apple! We're settling in to city life and all the excitement which comes along with it. Our kids are used to riding the subways now, have stopped complaining about walking/asking for taxis, and are quick to find our trains and let us know which ones we shouldn't get on!
We're living in Brooklyn, in an amazing apartment in Park Slope. We're on the 3rd floor of our building, and we feel like we live on Sesame Street! Our neighbors are really nice, and there are several families with young kids in our building. We're 1 block from Prospect Park (which is amazing!) so we enjoy exploring there on weekends for family time.
We're assigned to a ministry team with 3 other families preparing to move overseas. We are attending and learning from a nearby church named Park Slope PCA. We've met several people there associated with Japan, either being Japanese or growing up there. We even met one of our Tokyo teammate's aunt at the church! What a small world! We're being mentored by Bruce Young, a wise man who has spent most of his life living and ministering in Japan.
Sean and I are encouraged by God's grace and how he has sustained us this far. Living here is great preparation for Tokyo! More to come on that......
